Z-Coil Footwear Store opens in Downtown Piqua

 

When someone is really passionate about something – and you hear them talk about it – you can truly hear ‘it’ in their voice and that is the exact feeling you get when you talk to downtown Piqua’s newest business owners.  Ron and Tina Miller opened the doors of Z-Coil Pain Relief Footwear this week at 431 N. Main Street and there is little doubt they are excited to be in the business they are in! The Z-Coil store – and the passion you hear in their voices – is because both Ron and Tina Miller wear the shoes they are selling and absolutely believe in their product.  Z-Coil shoes are a high-end uniquely engineered shoe that is designed to alleviate foot, leg, and back pain.  All the shoes in the store feature a coil heel and come in a variety of styles.

A year and a half ago Tina Miller, a nurse at Wilson Hospital in Sidney, was concerned that her days as a care provider were coming to an end because of debilitating foot and leg pain but her daughter Cassie, also a nurse, introduced her to the Z-Coil shoes.  Once she started wearing them Tina’s  chronic pain came to an immediate stop and, more importantly, she could continue to do the work she loved. 

Tina Miller’s husband Ron gently ribbed her about her “funky” shoes but when his arthritic hip and leg began to become more of a problem he too began to wear the shoes and became an instant believer in the product.  Their daughter Cassie, who introduced her Mom to the footwear, has none of the physical problems experienced by her parents but wears the shoes for preventative reasons.  According to Ron Miller, Z-Coil footwear has a strong following with medical professionals, beauticians and other professionals that require long hours of standing or walking. 

The shoes come in a variety of styles including sandals, work boots (with both steel toes and without) clogs, men’s and women’s dress shoes, tennis shoes and hiking boots. 

Ron Miller says he is excited about opening the store in downtown Piqua because “These things really work.” Says Miller. 

Both Ron and Tina Miller attended the Z-Coil training academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico in May and received extensive training on fitting the shoes and making sure they are perfectly customized for any customer who may have particular issues with foot discomfort.  The Miller’s are one of the only authorized distributors of the Z-Coil shoes in the area with their territory stretching from north Dayton to Lima. 

Ron and Tina’s goal is to provide personal service to each customer so that their fit is right.  “Because we are new in the business we have found the folks at Z-Coil to be incredibly helpful.  They can instruct us how to adjust each pair of shoes for each customer so that they can experience the kind of relief that both Tina and I experienced.” Says Ron Miller. 

The store is open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday.  The Miller’s will also see customers by appointment at other times.  Piqua’s Z-Coil Shoe store can be reached at 778-8700.
