Parade Participants Invited to Trick Or Treat
Prior to the Kiwanis Halloween Parade on Wednesday, October 25th Piqua’s ghosts and goblins are invited to trick or treat in downtown Piqua. Mainstreet Piqua and the downtown Piqua merchants will be handing out candy to all costumed trick or treaters from 5 – 6 p.m. Those merchants with “Halloween stakes” directly in front of their business are participating in the event.
There are over 20 downtown businesses signed up to participate. In the 200 block of N. Main Street Coldwell Banker Plus One Professionals will be participating along with The Lighthouse Café and Miami County AAA. In the 300 block of N. Main Street the participants include Zender’s of Ohio, Stilwell’s Thoma & Sons, Susie’s Big Dipper, Uniforms Plus, Rocket Cleaners, the Piqua Area Chamber or Commerce and Barclay’s Men’s-Women’s Clothiers. In the 400 block of North Main Street those businesses participating include Readmore’s Hallmark, Crazy Martin’s, Apple Tree Gallery, Pat & Bob’s Lamp Shop, The Javawocky Café, RPC Computers, Attorney at Law Roberta Roberts, Miami Valley Collectibles and Edward Jones. In the 500 block of North Main participants include Papa John’s Pizza, IAM Appliance Services and Morris Heating and Cooling. The judging for the Kiwanis Costume Contest gets underway at 6 p.m. in the Fifth Third Bank Parking lot, with the parade starting at 7 p.m.
