Mainstreet Piqua Seeks Grand Marshal

 

Do you know someone whose contribution to our community, or the area, has gone unnoticed or unrecognized?  We are looking for just that kind of person!  Mainstreet Piqua is currently accepting nominations for be the grand marshal of the Downtown Piqua Holiday Parade to be held on Saturday, December 2 at 2 p.m.

The grand marshal of the holiday parade is a ceremonial position and past honorees have included 100 year old Piqua citizen Ray Smith, former City Manager Frank J. Patrizio, community volunteer’s, high school sports teams, downtown business owners and even the Piqua Heritage Festival.

The Downtown Piqua Holiday Parade is held during the Holiday Experiences in Piqua weekend.  The weekend features Christmas on the Green on Friday, December 1 and the Holly Jolly 5k Run and the Downtown Piqua Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 2.  The Mainstreet Piqua Victorian Christmas displays will be open to the public November 28 through December 10, 2006.
